SSYSTM / SETLIFE

A simple way for stylists to manage, request, and create looks

OVERVIEW

Ssystm, or now to be known as SETLIFE started as a simple managment idea for stylists of all types.

The goal of this project was to identify the most problematic areas for stylists and create a responsive web based management system.

ROLE

Product Designer

User Research | Feature Prioritization | Visual Design | Prototyping | Testing

TIMELINE

1 month, 2 2-week sprints

RESEARCH + SYNTHESIS

User Interviews: Interviewed 5 stylists in different fields, focusing on their process, management, and emotional journey through it.

Affinity Mapping: Found the common insights between each of those users.

Persona Development: Created a persona with behaviors, goals, needs, and pain points based on the insights and trends found, to get a better understanding of the SSYSTM/SETLIFE user.

PROBLEM

Stylists can take up to a week to prepare for the job at hand. They work collaboratively and rely on their trusted network.

Antonio quickly gets overwhelmed by the process of pulling items from showrooms and organizing the clothes that are sent/pulled. How might we help him streamline his process so he can focus that energy on the creative part of the job?

Mid-fidelity Prototype + Usability Testing

Knowing the major issues and pain points, I created a mid-fidelity prototype and tested with another 7 stylists.

Wireframes + Usability Testing

Added color and made the necessary changes in Figma. I then tested these wireframes with 3 more users, ensuring the product is easy to use, trustworthy, and solves the main issues.

FEATURE PRIORITIZATION

Dashboard.png

MAIN DASHBOARD

Keep stylists organized by project.

Contacts.png

or
They have access to the system’s database of showrooms, designer, etc.

PROJECT VIEW

Fast and easy access to everything pertaining to the specific project.
The user’s email is linked, and filtered to only show emails regarding this project.

PULL INVENTORY

To solve the disorganization of the stylist’s pull inventory, this feature was created.

Users/stylists can upload images of the products pulled, and the invoice/receipt that corresponds with tthem. They are organized by tab, and each item from the invoice is populated into a checklist, so the stylist can eaisly check off what has actually arrived and quikly see what is missing

REQUESTING

The request feature utilizes either the shared database or the user’s personal database to easily request looks from showrooms and designers. The user clicks the request looks, selects the looks needed, and then proceeds to email the showroom directly from this system.

USABILITY TESTING

I tested 7 users/stylists with the mid-fidelity prototype to ensure I addressed the problem and see what I needed to iterate more on.

Every user completed their tasks successfully. They voiced how helpful, visual and easy to navigate the system was. The features proved to be needed/wanted, and only some adjustments were addressed in the user testing.

Overall the tests were a success with the main feedback being about the layout and wording.

I moved forward with adjusting the layout, clearing up some wording, and making the call-to-actions more clear.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I thoroughly enjoyed working on this project. Having a background in retail and working with stylists in my past, made this project fun and insightful. Listening to their issues with organization, management, and requesting items proved that this system is necessary to make their lives easier. SSYSTEM - now SETLIFE- is a stylist’s dream solution to all their problems. It offers an easy way of managing their process, without the fear of losing products, going over budget, and always giving them access to the most up-to-date contacts in their field. Every stylist I spoke to, and tested voiced how impressive this system was and how they can’t wait to use it themselves!

This project is in development and will be live soon!
